Bought it for walking and hiking. Light and very well made. I wear somewhere between medium and large so I bought the large and the two spacers made it perfect for. Extremely happy with my purchase. Brim is perfect!
I discovered Conner Hats by chance while looking for a dependable hat to bring on a recent three-week trip to south Asia. After comparing a few different styles, I ultimately went with the Yellowstone, and I haven’t been disappointed. It’s extremely comfortable, practical, and well-made, and it looks great to boot. It also seems fairly hard-wearing—it held up great to the intense sun, whipping wind, and heavy rain in Thailand and Nepal. The fact that the company puts so much emphasis on ethical and sustainable practices is a major plus.
I initially ordered one size too large, but it was super easy to exchange it for the right size. I actually received the replacement before the original had even shipped back.
All in all, I’ve had a great experience with the company and this product and would happily buy again.
The hat is almost exactly what I wanted. I’ve bought quite a few trying to get there and I think this one did the trick. I was looking for a hat that was relatively plain, could be crushed, folded, drenched, but did NOT have an unstructured floppy brim.
It’s been drenched many times, the brim comes right back to its original shape. It can fit in a pocket easily when it needs to go away. It fits exactly like the web site sizing guide suggested. In fact, I just sold myself on the other color :)
Got the Yellowstone Trail hat with sun block. I used it as a work hat. After the sweat band got wet, I wiped it off with cool water as the instructions said.It shrank. A lot. What good is a work hat if you can’t clean it? I complained and was directed to a video where someone attempted to stretch out a hat by placing it over his knee and flexing his leg. Ridiculous. And it didn’t work. I was told to apply for an exchange or refund. When I did, my claim was rejected. Exchange or refund period was over. I’d had the damn thing for about 90 days. Then I was told it was a warranty issue and I could get an exact replacement for 50% plus shipping. No thank you. Another one would just do the same thing.I’m done with Conner. Poor quality and poor customer service.
Hi Wes, As with any cotton hat if you wet it especially if you wet the whole hat it will shrink but not a huge amount unless you dried it in a dryer.. the video is a technique we have used for 40 plus years and absoutly works .. you have to really put force into it for a cotton hat built this tough to stretch. Our customer service provided you with good soulutions... if you want to send a photo to the owner he will give you more detail if you are serious about getting your hat back to size.. reach out to [email protected]
